The general students of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) staged a second round of protest march and human chain to demand justice for the beating of Abdullah Al Mamun, a postgraduate student of Nutrition and Food Technology (NFT) department of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) by security supervisor Badiuzzaman Badal. At the end of the rally, the protesters handed over a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor.

On Wednesday (May 10) at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the protestors started marching from the front of the Administrative Building of the university and patrolled the various roads of the university. They started raising slogans demanding Badal's permanent expulsion. Meanwhile, the speakers demanded that the accused be permanently expelled from the campus and brought under the law.

At one stage of the movement, when Proctor Hasan Mohammad Al Emran came and wanted to address the issue, the students denied it and continued the movement and announced that they would continue the movement until the Vice-Chancellor came. In view of the demands of the students, the JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain came to the scene and assured fair trial to the students. At that time, he said, immediately after the incident, the university administration temporarily expelled him. This matter will be presented to the Board of Regents next (13th). He further said, 'I assure you, all measures will be taken as per the rules.'

It is to be noted that the General Secretary of JUST Employees' Association Badiuzzaman Badal and the employee Shahinur Rahman Sagar along with some unknown persons beat Abdullah Al Mamun, a postgraduate student of the NFT department of the university, at 9.30 pm on April 13 in front of the main gate of the university and seriously injured him. It is known that the aggrieved student purchased four acres of land in front of the main gate of the university and ran a photocopy shop to finance his studies. But in order to take possession of that land, Badal had been demanding a contribution of two and a half lakhs from the victim. Badal threatened that he would not allow him to come up on this land if he did not pay the subscription. The victim Mamun could not take any action and filed a case in the Jashore Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday afternoon, the judge issued Section 144 on the land. When Badal came to know about the matter, he got angry and came with his men at night to seize the shop and land. When they were prevented, they tried to kill Mamun with a hammer under the leadership of Badal. Badal was also suspended for this charge.
